Lakeside Kitchen
This lakeside kitchen remodel transformed a dark, traditional kitchen into a brighter and more balanced space while making thoughtful use of the features that were already working well. The existing cabinets were retained and painted in a two-tone combination of warm white uppers and blue-gray base cabinets, allowing the detailed doors and crown molding to remain part of the room’s character.

White quartz countertops replaced the dark surfaces and created a cleaner visual connection across the perimeter cabinets and island. The former raised, two-level island was converted into a single-level work surface with expanded preparation space and comfortable seating. The island was the only area requiring plumbing and electrical work as part of the renovation.

The finished kitchen is brighter, calmer and more functional without requiring a complete replacement of its cabinetry or hardwood flooring. Coordinated paint colors, quartz surfaces, black fixtures, updated pendant lighting and the simplified island give the room a cohesive new appearance while preserving its connection to the adjoining living space and lakeside home.
